The Wesley United Campus Ministry at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is seeking a Campus Minister. The ministry is charged to lead students to proclaim and embody the loving Lordship of Jesus Christ through fellowship with one another, worship of God, service to their communities, and engagement with disciplines of Christian life. The ministry is supported by the United Methodist Church, Louisiana Conference; the PCUSA, Presbytery of South Louisiana; and the Episcopal Church, Diocese of Western Louisiana. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has about 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students and a faculty/staff of about 1,000.

The Campus Minister will: Lead students in Christian worship services and group Bible and issues study groups; Develop leadership teams of students interested in active participation in the Ministry; Make Wesley an inviting place for churched and un-churched students to develop and strengthen their Christian faith; Encourage and plan mission opportunities and trips for Wesley students locally and beyond; Provide personal counseling for any interested student, staff, or faculty; Provide administrative leadership for the Ministry and work with the Jurisdictional bodies of the participating denominations; Work with the Board of Directors to further the mission and goals of the Ministry; Develop and foster ties with local churches to support the Ministry

Qualifications: A graduate of an accredited seminary or school of Theological Studies with plans to continue on to Ordination into either the Methodist, Presbyterian or Episcopal Denomination. Possess a very strong interest in working with college students/young adults. Interpersonal skills for leading small groups and individual counseling. Experience in working with multi-cultural populations

Salary: The compensation package includes allowances for base salary, professional expenses, travel, health insurance, housing, utilities, and pensions. The total package will range from $45,000.00 to $60,000.00 depending on education and experience. The breakdown will vary according to the needs of the candidate chosen for the position.
