Objective: Develop and lead programs that equip leaders for ministry with college students and young

adults. Lead MLC college ministry grant initiatives. Support MLC efforts to develop resources

for ministries serving college students and young adults.

Supervision: College & Young Adult Ministry Program Director reports to the Sr. Director of Next Gen

Resources and works with all MLC staff to accomplish the MLC mission.

Responsibilities:

Educational Program Development

Oversee the College educational concentration tracks by:

Lead efforts in collaboration with the MLC Graduate and Certificate teams to develop College ministry-based educational tracks, courses, and events.

Develop educational modules (workshops, classes, courses, webinars, etc) in college ministry that can be utilized in graduate, certificate, or continuing education courses.

Adapt the MLC Youth Ministry Practicum Workbook into a College Ministry Workbook.

Teach and facilitate workshops at relevant college and young adult ministry conferences and

events.

Ensure culturally competent support (coaches, materials, programs) for current and future

College ministry students and ministry partners.

Current College Ministry Grant Initiatives

Oversee all MLC college and young adult ministry offerings, developing a cohesive strategy

across programs, resources, and partnerships.

Recruit and lead a College Ministry Design Team that:

Equips college ministers and students to design service and theology programs

Designs and prototypes curriculum for college ministry using MLC pedagogy.

Recruit and support college ministry partners to engage in MLC’s Young People’s Theology

and Service grant initiative through microgranting opportunities and other programs.

Develop and facilitate the Vocational Imagination Fellowship, including program design,

administration, and curriculum development.

Relational Networking & Recruitment

Develop a network of relationships between MLC and College Ministry leaders and

organizations that help us accomplish our mission with young adults.

Work with MLC’s Recruiting Director to develop a student pipeline to graduate and certificate

programs.

Represent and promote the MLC at college ministry events.

Use HubSpot systems and tools to track your network contacts.

Qualifications:

8+ years of college campus ministry experience in a church or non-profit setting

Undergraduate degree in a relevant field

Masters degree in theology or related field (preferred)

Experience teaching and training ministry leaders

Demonstrated relational network and networking capabilities

Experience in engaging in cross-cultural dialogue

Proven strong verbal and written persuasive communication skills

Ability to gather in person with other staff members for strategic planning and relationship building at

least twice a year.

Some travel will be required for recruiting and teaching.

Location: MLC is a remote working environment with our operational office in Brentwood, Tennessee. We

have staff located across the country.

Grant Funded Position: This position is funded by a Lilly Endowment, Inc. grant through December 31,

2031. MLC intends to make the position permanent on our staff, which will require additional grant funding

and/or sustainable income from the project.
